Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system can be seen as the other “circulatory system in the body. Like the nervous system, the lymphatic system plays an important role in regulating the body’s immunity. The lymphatic system composes of lymph vessels, nodes and ducts. Lymph vessels are similar to blood vessels, especially the veins. They work by:
- Maintaining fluid balance in the body between the blood and tissue.
- Clearing away infection by fighting against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens.
- Facilitating the absorption of fatty molecules in the digestive system.
Lymphatic fluid is a clear-white substance made up of white blood cells. Other than blood that is pumped through the vessels, lymphatic fluid is squeezed through the vessels when the body’s muscles contract and relax. Lymphatic fluid is responsible for taking dead cells, metabolic waste and toxins to be eliminated through the urine, faeces and sweat. When lymphatic fluid passes through the body, it reaches what is called, lymph nodes. The immune cells in the nodes will assess the fluid and identify any foreign particles. The largest lymph nodes are found in the neck, armpits and the groin.
The spleen, tonsils and thymus are organs in the body that are completely made of lymphatic tissue They play an important role in maintaining a strong immunity in the body. The tonsils (back of the throat) facilitates white blood cell (lymphocyte) and antibody production. The spleen (lower left thorax) contributes to white blood cell production and it filters the blood of old red blood cells and foreign particles. The thymus (behind the breastbone) produces important immune cells called T-cells.
When the lymphatic system is blocked, infected or inflamed, it will stop working as effectively as it should. Insufficient draining of lymphatic fluid leads to swelling (oedema) in body parts, most commonly seen in the lower legs. Swelling may cause the skin to present tight. The only way to relieve the tension and swelling, is to do a light massage over the blocked nodes. This way, the fluid can move through the vessels more easily. The massage techniques will be discussed in more detail later in this blog.
Blockage
Blocked lymphatic vessels and nodes are a common phenomenon. Maybe more common that we expect it to be. However, the question is, what causes lymphatic blockage?
It is important for us to take note of the hygienic products that we use. Most people are not aware of the health implications certain deodorants, cleansers, creams, perfumes, toothpastes, lotions etc. have on the body. Most deodorants, for example, are aluminium containing antiperspirants. Different chemicals in the deodorants enter the body via the pores in our skin. They work by clogging and blocking the pores in order to prevent sweating. However, sweat is normal and healthy for the body. It is part of how the body gets rid of toxins, bacteria and chemicals.
When the use of chemical antiperspirants are terminated or replaced with a natural deodorant, swelling of the lymph nodes in the arm pits (axillary lymph nodes), are normal. The lymph nodes go through a detoxing phase, eliminating harmful chemicals and inflammatory substances from the body. See Hadassah Healing Oils’ natural deodorant.
Other hygienic products are made up of synthetic molecules and chemical compounds that affect our health negatively. the chemicals and synthetic molecules accumulate in our bodies. The body may not be able to eliminate the toxic particles on its own, but we can use oils to cleanse and detoxify the body of it.
Moreover, we have to consider our diets. Many foods that we eat, cause lymphatic blockage.
- Insufficient water intake
- Excessive caffeine intake
- Alcohol
- Low protein diet
- Processed meats like sausages and nuggets
- Excessive red meat intake like beef and lamb
- Food with added sugar like cereals and most sauces
- Sugar
- Chips
A blocked lymphatic system is easily characterised by the following symptoms:
- Brain fog
- Headaches
- Lack of energy
- Skin problems: dry and itchy skin, acne
- Arms and hand fall asleep while sleeping
- Pain and stiffness of the shoulders and spine
- Morning mucus
- Mucus after dairy consumption
- Recurring sore throat
- Ringing of the ears
- Constipation
- Inability to lose weight
Lymph and Breast Health
The circulation of lymphatic fluid in breast tissue aids in regulating fluid balance and eliminating harmful substances from the tissue. The breast lymphatic system can be seen as a spreader of different diseases, like cancer, through the body. When breast tissue is infected or inflamed, it will automatically be drained to the axillary lymph nodes and will cause them to swell noticeably.
Cancer spreads when cancerous cells break loose from the primary tumor. In the case of breast cancer, the cancer cells will reach the lymph nodes closest to the affected breast. It will most likely include the axillary nodes and the nodes close to the collarbone and the breast bone. For the women, it is important that you examine your breasts regularly. It does no harm and aids in breast cancer screening. The self-screening works as follows:
- Using a mirror, look at shape size and colour. Your breasts should be more or less evenly shaped without visible swelling or distortion. Abnormalities include dimpled or bulged skin, changed nipple position or nipple inversion, redness, swelling soreness and rash.
- Raise your arms and look for the same changes.
- Look for and take note of any fluid (blood or watery, milky or yellow fluid) coming out of the nipple/-s.
- Feel your breasts while lying down. Use your left hand to examine your right breast and your right hand to examine your left breast. Examine your entire breast, from the collarbone to the top of the abdomen and from the cleavage to the armpit. Don't forget the nipple! Use a firm touch with 2-3 fingers to examine the breast. Follow a circular motion.
- Feel the breasts while standing or sitting. Use the same method as described in the previous step.
Lumps are not always cancerous but it is worth having it thoroughly examined by a medical professional.
Immune Cells
The lymphatic system is extremely important to regulate the health of the entire body. It is what makes healing in the body possible. It represents a wall of protection while the immune cells act as the “military” in our body’s city. They keep intruders from coming in and when inside, they target and eliminate them. Immune cells are white blood cells (lymphocytes). These white blood cells are divided into 3 main categories.
Lymphocytes
Cytotoxic T-Cells: Lymphocytes that kill virally infected cells.
Helper T-Cells: Specialised lymphocytes that help other T – and B-Cells to fulfil their function in the body.
B-Cells: Differentiates into plasma cells that in turn, produces immunoglobulins (antibodies). Immunoglobulins are formed when the body is exposed to a pathogen. When the body is exposed to a pathogen a following time, the body will remember the foreign particle and immediately activate the immune system to eliminate it.
Plasma cells: Produces immunoglobulins.
Immunoglobulins: Highly specialised protein molecules that fight against all possible microorganisms and pathogens that we are exposed to. There are different types of immunoglobulins. They are: IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, IgA1, IgA2, IgM, IgD and IgE.
Neutrophils
Neutrophils are types of white blood cells that consume and kill microorganisms by a process called phagocytosis.
Monocytes
Monocytes are also types of white blood cells that develop into macrophages when they enter tissue. They consume and kill microorganisms in the tissue by means of phagocytosis.
Scripture
In Scripture, when a city is built, it is important that it is built with a wall of protection. When it does not have a wall, predators and criminals can enter and destroy what is inside. “A man who has no control over his spirit Is like a broken-down city without a wall.” – Proverbs 25:28. We read in Matthew 5:14 how we should look. “You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city to be hidden on a mountain.”
We have learned in Proverbs 17:22 that a stricken spirit dries up the bones. We have also learned that dry bones cause sickness. Dry bones are a result of little to no blood in the body. We know that blood is the life (soul) in all things living and that blood has a voice (spirit). Spiritual dry bones affect our ability to defend ourselves against and fight the enemy. When our spirits are weak and vulnerable, we open a gateway for the enemy to attack.
We know that we are the dwelling place of YHVH/God “And what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, ‘I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.’” – 2 Corinthians 6:16. We are a city and a Tabernacle.
The wall we build around our cities are very important because it protects us from attacks launched against us. Just like the enemy launches spiritual attacks on the children of YHVH/God, our bodies are susceptible to attacks too. We fall victim to infections by bacteria, viruses, fungi, protists and many other microorganisms. This is why we are created with a lymphatic system – to fight against these infections. The human lymphatic system represents the wall of protection that our bodies need to sustain good overall health. When we strengthen our “walls” and maintain them, we are able to resist infectious diseases more effectively.
Trees do not have an immune system like humans do. An interesting difference between human cells and plant cells, are that plant cells have cell walls and human’s do not. When a tree is infected with a disease, it cannot fight and eliminate it. What it does, is it strengthens its cell walls, to isolate the infection so that it cannot spread to other parts of the tree. It also prevents that infections do not occur as easily.
Throughout the entire Scripture, humans are compared to plants, especially trees and herbs. This is significant because it gives us a glimpse of the blueprint on which our bodies are built. David wrote in the first book of Psalm about how we should be like trees. “For he shall be as a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither, and whatever he does prospers.” – Psalm 1:3.
A strong and prosperous city has a wall built around it.
- "All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates and bars, besides a great many unwalled towns." - Deuteronomy 3:5
- "Then I said to them, 'You see the evil which we are in, how Yerushalayim lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Yerushalayim, and let us no longer be a reproach.'" - Nehemiah 2:17
- "and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ěl:" - Revelation 21:12
- "therefore this crookedness is to you like a breach ready to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, swiftly." - Isaiah 30:113
As children of YHVH/God and Bride of Yah’shua/Jesus, we can ask for spiritual protection by the Almighty Elohim. “For I Myself am to her,’ declares יהוה (YHVH/God), ’a wall of fire all around, and for esteem I am in her midst.’” – Zechariah 2:5. When we put our trust in other things, we lose our protective wall. “The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his own imagination.” – Proverbs 18:11.
A Wall of Fire
Before YHVH/God spoke everything into creation, he designed plant material to aid in restoring the body back into its original blueprint, uniquely programmed by the Father to be His sacred Dwelling Place. We designed herbs, fruit and lifeblood to fill our nutritional needs and to keep us healthy. When we live healthily, it automatically builds our immune system. The lymphatic system is then able to produce healthy white blood cells that can effectively identify and fight different infections.
A strong immunity is built by exposure to a pathogen to stimulate a response to build antibodies, creating the ability to resist future infection by the same pathogen. When we ask for it, the Father protects us against attacks with a wall of fire. This way, the enemy cannot steal, kill and destroy our scrolls, destinies and purposes that we were created with. The main goal of the enemy is to alter and change the DNA of man. He wants to sit in the Mercy Seat of YHVH/God in the DNA. When satan diverts your path that was written in your scroll before creation, the Father is no longer seated in your DNA.
We need to pray for a wall of fire to protect our DNA and our scrolls. We need to claim back our birth right and the destiny we were created to have. “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8. We are able to stop the enemy from stealing from us and we are able to receive healing.
Broken Down Wall
Having a broken immune system means that your city has a broken down wall. When your body’s immune system is weak, you are more prone to infection by various microorganisms. Infection or disfunction of the lymphatic system presents itself in different ways.
Lymphoedema (water retention)
Lymphoedema concerns fluid build-up in the body, leading to swollen body parts like the hands, feet, ankles and legs. This happens when the lymphatic system is not working properly. Bodily fluid gets caught up in the tissue and isn’t drained effectively.
Drink 1 capsule of Water Retention blend daily or as needed. Topically apply 5 drops of Adrenal Blend over the kidneys and the lower spine.
Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system)
Hodgkin Lymphoma is cancer of the lymphatic system. It concerns the abnormal production of B-lymphocytes (B-Cells) and their collection in body tissue. When they collect, they lose their infection-fighting function, leaving the body more vulnerable to infection.
Drink 1 capsule of Cancer and Tumor Support Blend and 1 capsule of DNA Protector daily. Topically apply 15 drops of Cell Rejuvenation over the spine in the evening. As an add-on therapy, topically apply up to 40 drops of the Lymph Blend over the spine and lymphatic system.
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma also is cancer of the lymphatic system. It concerns the abnormal production of B-lymphocytes (B-Cells) and their collection in lymph nodes. When they collect, they lose their infection-fighting function, leaving the body more vulnerable to infection.
Topically apply 30 drops, of the Lymph Blend over the affected area/s. Take 1 tablespoon of MZN 150g 450g, daily, swallow the MZN, as you would swallow yogurt. Drink 1 capsule of Detox Blend and 1 capsule of Inflammation Blend daily.
Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils. It usually occurs as a result of a viral infection. Less commonly, it is the result of a bacterial infection.
Children, aged 0 – 5
Apply the Immune Support Roller underneath the feet and over the neck. Mix 1 teaspoon of MZN 150g 450g in some water and let them drink it daily. Apply the Fever Roller Kids behind the ears when necessary. Apply the Chest Roller Kids over the chest twice a day. Apply 10-20 drops of Spinal Therapy Kids over the spine, lymph and neck, twice a day. Prepare a tea with honey and 2 drops each of Ginger 5ml 10ml, Lemon 5ml 10ml and Thieves, and drink as needed.
Adults
Drink 1 capsule of Natural Antibiotic daily. Apply a few drops of the Natural Antibiotic over the tonsils. Drink 1 teaspoon of MZN 150g 450g, daily, swallow the MZN as you would swallow yogurt. Apply the Fever Roller behind the ears, when necessary. Topically apply 20 drops Chest Blend 50ml 100ml over the chest twice a day. Apply 20-30 drops Spinal Therapy over the spine, lymph and neck, twice a day. Prepare a tea with honey and 2 drops each of Ginger 5ml 10ml, Lemon 5ml 10ml and Thieves, and drink as needed.
Rebuild the Wall
When impairment of the lymphatic system presents itself, there are two important things to consider. Diet and oils, and a lymphatic massage to accompany it. These are the blocks we need to rebuild the wall of protection in our bodies.
Diet
To boost your lymphatic system and to enhance its function, incorporate the following whole and organic food to your diet:
- Enough clean water
- Leafy greens like kale and spinach
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Turmeric
- Nuts and seeds
- Citrus like oranges and grapefruit
- Berries like cranberries
- Guava
- Pineapple
- Kiwi
- Bananas
- Watermelon
- Fish like salmon and tuna
- Legumes like lentils and chickpeas
- Eggs
These foods will help detoxify and cleanse the body and bodily fluids.
Oils
Oils have the ability to penetrate deeply into body cells. The Father programmed oils to restore the body as His Tabernacle and to restore the DNA of man into its original blueprint design. Hadassah Healing Oils compiled the Lymph Blend to stimulate the lymphatic system, to aid in detoxifying the lymph and to support lymph drainage. 30-40 drops should be applied topically over the lymph nodes using a light massage technique to stimulate the lymphatic system.
Click here for a link to a series of informative videos on how to do a lymphatic drainage massage on the whole body.
While pharmaceuticals toxify and cause blockage in the body, oils have the ability to cleanse and detoxify the body. It takes substances in the body that are not water soluble by nature and make them soluble, so that they can be eliminated by the blood and lymph, through the faeces, urine and sweat.
Some oils that work well on the lymphatic system are as follows:
Cypress oil fights water retention and and aids in flushing out toxins from the body.
Lemon oil is a detoxing oil, aiding in the process of lymphatic detoxification.
Cypress and Lemon oil work by stimulating lymphocyte production and strengthening the immune system.
Ginger oil is high in 6-gingerol, an antioxidant aiding in lymphatic detoxification.
Grapefruit oil works well in lymphatic draining because it reverses water retention.
Orange oil is a detoxifying oil that stimulates the lymphatic system and supports the elimination of toxic waste products from the body.
Rosemary oil stimulates the lymphatic system by promoting the removal of waste products and relieving/reversing water retention.
Juniper Berry oil fights water retention by its purifying mechanism of action. It purifies the body of toxins and waste particles.
Fennel oil has a detoxifying mechanism by which it removes toxins from the body. It fights water retention effectively.
Like A Tree
We know from Scripture that the blueprint of the human body was designed by the Father, similar to the blueprint design of trees. We see that the nervous system, the circulatory system and the lymphatic system operates similarly to the way that trees do. When pathogens enter the body through a weakened immune system, it roots itself to the nervous system from where it uses the body’s energy and sends signals of illness through the body. When trees are infected by a pathogen, they strengthen their cell walls to prevent the disease from spreading.
The key difference between humans and trees, are the following. Trees cannot eliminate or kill parasites that entered and rooted themselves. They can only limit the spread and act preventatively against future infection. However, YHVH/God made man in His image. He programmed man to be His Tabernacle – clean, healthy, without spot or blemish. The Father designed oils to cleanse the body cells, to deprogram miswritten cellular information and DNA coding and to reprogram cellular information and DNA coding back into its original blueprint design.
“In order to present it to Himself a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any of this sort, but that it might be set-apart and blameless.” – Ephesians 5:27.
Trees will forever show the sickness and pain they endured, while the children of the Most High Elohim can be washed clean and healed by the Blood of the Lamb, Messiah Yah’shua/Jesus. “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5.
