Adenomyosis protocol

Symptoms of adenomyosis include heavy and painful periods (dysmenorrhea), vague pain in the pelvic area, and a feeling of pressure on the bladder and rectum. The heavy bleeding may lead to anemia.

This enlarged uterus can often be felt on a vaginal exam or be labeled bulky on imaging. Unsurprisingly, exercise can be difficult for sufferers of adenomyosis. Weight gain, as a result, can be a secondary symptom of the condition due to heavy and painful bleeding fatigue.

In addition to its physical size, an enlarged uterus may cause the following symptoms:

• menstrual cycle abnormalities, such as heavy bleeding and cramping
• a mass over the lower abdomen
• anemia due to excessive menstrual bleeding
• general weakness and paleness
• weight gain at the waistline, from the uterine overgrowth
• pressure symptoms on the uterus and surrounding structures
• cramping in the pelvic area
• constipation
• swelling and cramping in the legs
• backaches
• urinary frequency and urgency
• watery discharge
• bleeding after menopause
• pain during sexual intercourse

Symptoms of an enlarged uterus can vary depending on what has caused them.
