What is Pharmakeia?
People around the world have become extremely familiar with laborotory manufactured medicine, known as prescription and “over the counter” capsules, tablets, syrups, injections, creams, ointments, etc. They are manufactured by pharmaceutical companies, sold in pharmacies by pharmacists and prescribed by medical doctors. This process and these products have one common denominator – Pharmakeia. But what is Pharmakeia?
Pharmakeia is derived from the Greek word, φαρμακεία, pronounced far-mak-i’-ah. Pharmakeia is the name of a principality in the kingdom of darkness. The Strongs number G5331, describes Pharmakeia as magic, sorcery, enchantment, occultism, witchcraft (manipulate, dominate, intimidate) and the use of drugs, poison, spells or medicine (pharmacy). Words like pharmacy, pharmaceuticals and pharmacist (G5332) are all rooted in the Greek word, Pharmakeia.
Pharmakeia is a health care system of symptom management. Medication is not given with the intention to heal an ailment, it is given to portray health and wellness. Although the system is born out of bad intentions and evil motives, not all people in the industry are. YHVH/God is busy teaching and preparing people who are obedient to the His voice to redeem the medical system back into the Hands of the Father and into the original blueprint He designed because He, YHVH/God is the only true Healer.
As the Healer, YHVH/God created many different ways of healing, called keys. Each sick person’s situation differs from another. That is why the Father gives us a variety of keys to use. Some of the keys include oils, herbs, prayer, fasting, a healthy lifestyle, etc. Since Creation, plants and plant lifeblood was intended to be used as medicine for healing the sick. Pure oil is the undefiled and uncorrupted molecules, seated in Heavenly Places, programmed and designed by YHVH/God for the healing of the nations.
The symbols above are widely associated with everything connected to Pharmakiea. The symbol of the rod with one coiled snake is used in the broader pharmaceutical field. It represents the sceptre of Aesculapius, the Greek god of doctors, medicine and healing. The symbol of a rod with two coiled snakes, are called the Caduceus and is used to represent medicine. In Greek mythology, the Caduceus is a symbol of the Greek god of luck, commerce and peace, named Hermes. Apollo, the Greek god of healing, gifted Hermes with a staff to establish reconciliation between them.
Interestingly, Apollo’s name is used in the original Hippocratic oath. The oath below is one of the first drafts of the Hippocratic oath and was sworn by many professionals in the medical field since 400 BC. It had been revised occasionally over the years as the knowledge of medicine grew and changed.
“I swear by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius the surgeon, likewise Hygeia and Panacea, and call all the gods and goddesses to witness, that I will observe and keep this underwritten oath, to the utmost of my power and judgment. I will reverence my master who taught me the art. Equally with my parents, will I allow him things necessary for his support, and will consider his sons as brothers.
I will teach them my art without reward or agreement; and I will impart all my acquirement, instructions, and whatever I know, to my master’s children, as to my own; and likewise to all my pupils, who shall bind and tie themselves by a professional oath, but to none else. With regard to healing the sick, I will devise and order for them the best diet, according to my judgment and means; and I will take care that they suffer no hurt or damage.
Nor shall any man’s entreaty prevail upon me to administer poison (G5331 – Pharmakeia) to anyone; neither will I counsel any man to do so. Moreover, I will give no sort of medicine (G5331 – Pharmakeia) to any pregnant woman, with a view to destroy the child. Further, I will comport myself and use my knowledge in a godly manner. I will not cut for the stone, but will commit that affair entirely to the surgeons.
Whatsoever house I may enter, my visit shall be for the convenience and advantage of the patient; and I will willingly refrain from doing any injury or wrong from falsehood, and (in an especial manner) from acts of an amorous nature, whatever may be the rank of those who it may be my duty to cure, whether mistress or servant, bond or free.
Whatever, in the course of my practice, I may see or hear (even when not invited), whatever I may happen to obtain knowledge of, if it be not proper to repeat it, I will keep sacred and secret within my own breast. If I faithfully observe this oath, may I thrive and prosper in my fortune and profession, and live in the estimation of posterity; or on breach thereof, may the reverse be my fate!”
Humans are the most advanced life form on the face of the earth because we are the only ones created in the image of YHVH/God. Why are so many people sicker than ever? Why do we see cancers, heart attacks and strokes more often than years ago? It is necessary for us to evaluate the medical system of today and the condition of its fruit. The knowledges of the medical system today and the principles of Pharmakeia (manipulating, twisting and changing molecules), is rooted in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and branches out as Pharmakeia.
The purpose of this blog is to form a basic understanding of the root of Pharmakeia and to establish Scriptural truth about Pharmakeia nested in the current health care system. The following is extremely important to take note of:
- When a person is in the position of desperate need of chemically compounded medication, it is all right to start the road to recovery and symptom control with it. Pharmakeia is not a long term solution. With the healing keys of YHVH/God mentioned earlier, complete healing is a true possibility.
- In some cases, like Epilepsy, the use of certain chemical medications are necessary until the root cause of the symptoms are found. The crux is not to become dependant on the medication, because it leads to bondage. The goal of treating an illness or ailment is always to restore a healthy equilibrium in the body.
- It is crucial to not stop the use of chronic medication immediately. Stopping medication use is a process of using the correct oils and herbs, praying, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and walking in intimacy with YHVH/God. People must know that there is a better path to healing. This path may take longer and it may require more energy and endurance, but it will lead to LIFE.
Now that we have an understanding of where Pharmakeia comes from, we can look further into understanding why it plays such a prominent roll in countless people’s lives. The reason people find themselves familiar and comfortable with Pharmakeia, is this; for generations we have been taught that Pharmakeia is the only way to become healthy and to maintain health. We have learned to trust the opinions and “wisdom” of Pharmakeia with our whole lives – literally.
The Serpent
Throughout Scripture, it is evident that the number one goal of the enemy has always been to manipulate and change the Creation of YHVH/God. Man, created on the sixth day of Creation, is the only life form created in the image and likeness of YHVH/God. “And Elohim said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the ground.'” – Genesis 1:26.
From the start, the serpent infiltrated and altered the DNA of man. He did this when he deceived Adam and Eve into eating from the only forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden. His soul purpose was to manipulate the only beings made in the image of the Almighty Elohim because of his own jealousy. His “masterplan” is to create counterfeits. Counterfeit blessings, counterfeit realities, counterfeit belief systems, etc. When it comes to health, there is no difference.
The language of Creation, was Hebrew. The first Hebrew was written as pictures and is referred to as ancient pictographic Hebrew. In pictographic Hebrew, a picture really is worth a thousand words. Let’s have a look at where the name of satan originated from so that we can have a better understanding of what exactly he is and what his goal on earth is.
HaSatan → השטן
The name reads from right to left and consists of the following:
- ה (Hey) → Behold, "The", Reveal
- ש (Shin) → Devour, Destroy, Teeth, Flames
- ט (Tet) → Serpent, Twists, Surround
- ן (Nun) → Life, Fish, Seed, Son
We can conclude that the enemy’s name means “Behold the destructive and devouring serpent who twists the seed of man”. We know that this is true because we read in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to slaughter, and to destroy. I have come that they might possess life, and that they might possess it beyond measure.”
“…He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.” – John 8:44. A twisted truth is nothing else that a lie. Pharmakeia is the twisted health care system.
YHVH/God is the only Creator. How does satan create counterfeits? The answer is simple, he doesn’t. He manipulates what has already been created and forms something that resembles the true Creation. In the Garden of Eden, he took the words of YHVH/God, manipulated and changed it to the extent that Adam and Eve believed that eating from the forbidden tree, was not wrong. Likewise, he manipulates health and presents people with a counterfeit medicine from the knowledges of Pharmakeia, so that the body can portray a healthy state.
Pharmakeia/pharmaceutical products contain synthetic molecules that mimic the mechanism by which the body naturally fights pathogens. As a result, the symptoms reappear once the treatment is stopped. Pharmakeia manipulates the body into thinking that it is healthy, but in reality, the sickness never heals. Pharmakeia has a principle, well known under medical professionals as polypharmacy. Polypharmacy involves the treatment of many diseases and side effects at once. Let us look at some examples:
When a person has a blood pressure of 140/90 mm Hg or higher, the doctor will automatically prescribe a tablet containing active ingredients like vasodilators, ACE inhibitors, blood thinning agents, beta-blockers, diuretics and calcium channel blockers. These molecules bind to cell surface receptors and send signals to the body that the blood pressure had dropped. The body then recognises a healthy state and stops the inflammatory response. However, when the medication is stopped, symptoms of high blood pressure will reappear and the inflammatory response will flare up again.
Because the root cause of the high blood pressure is never treated or eliminated, secondary symptoms, known as side effects, will presents itself. The above mentioned medications cause side effects like lightheadedness, lethargy, headaches, anxiety, etc. because the cells are blocked from sending out signals of an increased vascular pressure. It is not uncommon for doctors to prescribe cholesterol medication to aid in the treatment of high blood pressure. The reason being to lower fatty buildup in the blood vessels that may cause blood pressure to increase.
Cholesterol is a fatty substance found in blood vessels. It is normal to have cholesterol in your body. Some people has higher levels of cholesterol that may cause buildup in the cell walls. When a person has a blood cholesterol count of 240 mg/dl or higher, it is accounted for that the person has high cholesterol. The doctor will then prescribe a statin to lower the cholesterol buildup in the vessels. However, the results aren’t as promising.
Statins cause a series of side effects (secondary symptoms), including headaches, muscle pain, digestive problems, sleeping problems, memory loss, early onset of Alzheimer’s disease, lethargy, etc. Statins are one of the chemically compounded medications that cause the most secondary symptoms/sicknesses, which can be controlled by using the correct herbal medication and following a healthy diet.
This is a common place where polypharmacy comes into play. The person will be prescribed an anti-inflammatory to relieve their muscle pain and headaches, probably a laxative or an anti-diarrheal medication and most probably a low dosage of high blood pressure medication, like an aspirin, preventatively. Not even to mention sleeping pills and mood stabilisers.
Scripture
Pharmakeia is mentioned several times in Scripture. We misread it, because it is translated differently in the Bibles that we read.
“And the works of the flesh are well-known, which are these: adultery, whoring, uncleanness, indecency, idolatry, drug sorcery (G5331; Pharmakeia, medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): – sorcery, witchcraft.), hatred, quarrels, jealousies, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, murders, drunkenness, wild parties, and the like – of which I forewarn you, even as I also said before, that those who practise such as these shall not inherit the reign of Elohim.” – Galatians 5:19-21.
“And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their drug sorceries (G5331 – Pharmakeia), nor of their whoring, nor of their thefts.” – Revelation 9:21.
“And the light of a lamp shall not shine in you any more at all. And the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you any more at all. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for by your drug sorcery (G5331 – Pharmakeia) all the nations were led astray.” – Revelation 18:23.
“Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city. But outside are the dogs and those who enchant with drugs (G5332; a druggist (“pharmacist”) or poisoner, i.e. (by extension) a magician from G5331 – Pharmakeia), and those who whore, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and all who love and do falsehood.” – Revelation 22:14.
We know that Pharmakeia is a counterfeit to the healing plan and blueprint YHVH/God had created before the foundations of the earth were established. In Scripture we read about a perfumer who was responsible to mix healing oils, balms and ointments to the specifications of YHVH/God. The perfumer was and is specifically chosen by the Father and trained by Him to prepare healing products for His Nation. This chosen perfumer is held set-apart and holy (kadosh) to make these products to His likeness and His blueprinted recipes.
“Perfumer” is derived from the Hebrew word, רָקַח, pronounced raw-kakh’. It has the Strongs number H7543. It is a verb meaning to compound, mix or prepare an oil or ointment. It refers to a spice mixer or spice dealer. The word is commonly translated as the apothecary or the mixer of oils. In Die Boodskap Afrikaans translation, the word is translated as “apteker”, the Afrikaans word for pharmacist.
“And you shall make from these a set-apart anointing oil, a compound, blended, the work of a perfumer (H7543). It is a set-apart anointing oil.” – Exodus 30:25.
“And they buried him in his burial-site, which he had made for himself in the City of Dawiḏ. And they laid him in the bed which was filled with spices and various kinds of ointments mixed by the perfumer’s (H7543) skill. And they made a very great burning for him.” – 2 Chronicles 16:14
“Dead flies make the perfumer’s (H7543) ointment stink, ferment; a little folly outweighs wisdom, esteem.” – Ecclesiastes 10:1.
Moses in the Desert
It is widely believed and accepted that the medical symbol originated from the phenomenon the Israelites experienced on their way to the Red Sea.
“And they departed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Sea of Reeds, to go around the land of Eḏom. But the being of the people grew impatient because of the way. And the people spoke against Elohim and against Mosheh, “Why have you brought us up out of Mitsrayim to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our being loathes this light bread.” And יהוה (YHVH/God) sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people. And many of the people of Yisra’ěl died.
“Then the people came to Mosheh, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against יהוה (YHVH/God) and against you. Pray to יהוה to take away the serpents from us.” So Mosheh prayed on behalf of the people. And יהוה (YHVH/God) said to Mosheh, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole. And it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” So Mosheh made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole. And it came to be, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.” – Numbers 21:4-9.
However, this is a false assumption. YHVH/God created everything and everything was created to be good and pleasing unto Him. We have established that the enemy can only steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). He alters and manipulates that which has already been created by YHVH/God. The symbol of the copper snake on the rod was a prophetic foreshadowing of Messiah Yah’shua/Jesus who bore the cross for the forgiveness of our sin and the healing of our ailments.
“And as Mosheh lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so the Son of Aḏam has to be lifted up, so that whoever is believing in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life.” – John 3:14-15. The symbol was stolen and defiled by satan and he gave it to Pharmakeia, a principality in the kingdom of darkness. The symbol is now associated with the works of Pharmakeia – sorcery, witchcraft, and occultism.
King Asa
YHVH/God established that the lifespan of man will be 120 years. “And יהוה (YHVH/God) said, ‘My Spirit shall not strive with man forever in his going astray. He is flesh, and his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.'” – Genesis 6:3. We see in Deuteronomy 34:7 that when we live a life according to our Covenant with the Father, we will live up to the age He established. “And Mosheh was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone.”
Our bodies were created with the ability to fight pathogenic infiltration for 120 years, provided we live in a covenant relationship with our King. When we seek His Face during sickness and health, we will receive blessing in return. If we do not follow the instructions given to us, our lifespan will be compromised accordingly. King Asa, one of the good kings of Judah, become sick and sought the Egyptian physicians for healing rather than YHVH/God.
“And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his disease was severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek יהוה (YHVH/God), but the physicians. So Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.” – Chronicles 16:12-13. Research shows that Asa must have died when he was between the ages of 59 and 63.
We must remember: “Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he might become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with Elohim. For it has been written, ‘He catches the wise in their craftiness,'” (Job 5:13). – 1 Corinthians 3:18-19.
“For the foolishness of Elohim is wiser than men, and the weakness of Elohim is stronger than men.” – 1 Corinthians 1:25. Pharmakeia is not wisdom from the Throne Room of Heaven. Pharmakeia is foolishness with YHVH/God because it’s substance is evil.
The Leaves of the Tree
The lifeblood/oil of plants are designed to heal the body. Psalm 109:18, “So let it enter his inward parts like water, into his bones and like oil.” Mark 6:13, “And they were casting out many demons, and they were anointing with oil many who were sick, and they were healing them.” The frequency of lifeblood is high enough to penetrate into body cells, cell memory and to have an effect on DNA level.
Lifeblood (oil) was perfectly designed and programmed by the Father to have a frequency that penetrates deeply into the cells, to stimulate the intracellular receptor and to restore the seed of man into the designed scroll and blueprint. YHVH/God designed oils to restore His Mercy Seat in the DNA of man. With the oils, we see the Father’s Heart in restoring man as His dwelling place and Tabernacle.
Herbs on the other hand, are food for the body and aid in improving and supplementing the nutritional deficiencies of the body.
- "And Elohim said, 'See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food.'" - Genesis 1:29
- "They pluck salt herbs by the bushes, and broom tree roots for their food." - Job 30:4
Ezekiel and Revelation both talk about the Tree of Life that is rooted in the River of Life. From the Tree grows leaves (herbs) that do not wither, fruit (spice) that are new every month and leaves for healing. These leaves point to the lifeblood (oil) of the plant seated in its leaves that are for the healing of the body.
- "And by the bank of the stream, on both sides, grow all kinds of trees used for food, whose leaves do not wither and fruit do not fail. They bear fruit every new moon, because their water flows from the set-apart place. And their fruit shall be for food, and their leaves for healing.” - Ezekiel 47:12
- "And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. " - Revelation 22:1-2
Not all oils are pure. Many oils are defiled with Mammon and Pharmakeia. The enemy creates counterfeits as far as he goes. He uses Pharmakeia to infiltrate many noble healing initiatives and succeeds because people stop asking questions. People do not lift stones to see where the twisting serpent is hiding. Pharmakeia slithers in and finds a resting place in many parts of our everyday lives. It is our responsibility to rid ourselves of it.
In her book, PHARMAKEIA A Hidden Assassin, Ana Méndez Ferrell wrote, “Every infirmity originates in the devil’s territory, and for that reason is spiritual. Now, if we understand the origin of infirmity and what gives it substance, we will be able to deal with it with the spiritual weapons God has given us.” She says, “This spirit (Pharmakeia) controls the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. Millions of people are captive, believing that the answer to their sickness is found in medicine.”
These are some of the logos used in the medical industry: World Health Organisation, Doctors of Medicine, Ambulances and Pharmacies.
