Cholecystitis is a redness and swelling (inflammation) of the gallbladder. It happens when a digestive juice called bile gets trapped in your gallbladder. The gallbladder is a small organ under your liver. It stores bile which is made in the liver.

Symptom:

Pain in the upper right side or middle of the abdomen. The pain can be dull, sharp, or cramping. The pain usually starts suddenly. The feeling of pain is steady and may spread to the back or the area below the right shoulder blade.
