Biological Process in the Body:

When applied topically, the essential oils are absorbed through the skin and enter the systemic circulation. Lemon and citronella oils primarily function to repel insects and reduce infection risks. Tea Tree and lavender oils work to control inflammation and prevent secondary infections, while cedarwood provides additional anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial support. The carrier oils ensure safe and effective delivery of these compounds by facilitating their absorption into the skin and underlying tissues.

Indications:

Bug Bites: Provides symptomatic relief from itching, swelling, and discomfort associated with insect bites.
Insect Repellent: Offers repellent effects against insects, reducing the likelihood of bites.

Application:

Clean and dry the affected area before applying the roll-on.
Apply the blend directly to the bug bite or surrounding area.
Roll the blend gently on the affected area without excessive rubbing.

Frequency:

Use up to 3 times daily or as necessary to manage symptoms or prevent further irritation.

The Kids range roll-ons are safe to use from 3 weeks old, please do a patch test before use.

The kids’ range can be used safely and effectively on babies and children up to 12 years. The kid’s range can also be used on adults if specifically indicated or for people with hypersensitive skin. It is safe to diffuse our pure oils and diffuser blends for children and babies but decrease the number of drops. We recommend the kid’s range roll-on blends with the diffuser oils where relevant and necessary.

We recommend using this blend with Hadassah’s Mosquito Repellent and the Skin Healing herbal cream if necessary.

Primary Ingredients

Mechanism of Action:

Lemon:
Lemon essential oil, rich in d-limonene, exhibits antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties help soothe irritated skin and reduce the risk of secondary infections surrounding the bug bite.
Citronella:
Citronella oil contains citronellal and citronellol, compounds that are known for their insect-repelling effects. Citronella disrupts the sensory receptors of insects therefore keeping them at bay. Its antimicrobial action also aids in minimizing infection risks.
Tea Tree:
Tea Tree oil is well-documented for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Terpinen-4-ol, the principal component, effectively inhibits bacterial and fungal growth, reducing the likelihood of infection. It also alleviates inflammation and itching associated with insect bites.
Cedarwood:
Cedarwood oil contains cedrol, which has both anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. This oil helps to soothe irritated skin and reduce the itching and swelling commonly associated with insect bites. Its strong aroma also contributes to insect-repellent effects.
Lavender:
Lavender oil is renowned for its calming and anti-inflammatory effects. Linalool and linalyl acetate, the primary compounds, reduce inflammation and discomfort, promoting healing of irritated skin. Lavender also has antimicrobial properties that help prevent infection.
Carrier Oils (Grapeseed Oil and MCT Oil):
Grapeseed oil, rich in linoleic acid, provides anti-inflammatory benefits and supports skin health. MCT oil enhances the penetration of essential oils into the skin due to its medium-chain fatty acids, facilitating the effective delivery of therapeutic compounds.
