During Covid, my husband was admitted to hospital. For 6 weeks I didn’t see him. The doctors didn’t give him a chance to live or to work if he survived. Nevertheless, coming out of the hospital, he was weak, in a wheelchair, and still had to use oxygen at home.

His lung capacity was 28% and the Pulmonologist suggested a lung transplant might be an option in the future. The scary part from coming out of hospital – I was the new nurse – at home!

After 6 months, his lung capacity increased to 64%; after 12 months, it was 82%.
