The Fig balm was made to complete the silver hair routine started by The Fig shampoo bar. It tones grey, silver, and blonde hair using a calibrated violet pigment that neutralises yellow and brassy tones without saturating the hair — which is why it does not stain. It also works as a rinse-out conditioner or a leave-in treatment, using abyssinian oil, turmeric, and rosemary to restore softness and shine to hair that tends toward dryness and coarseness.

What Is The Fig Balm?

A toning conditioning balm for silver, grey, and blonde hair. It uses the same violet pigment as The Fig shampoo bar — D&C Violet No 2 — to neutralise yellow and brassy tones that accumulate in light hair over time. The pigment is calibrated to tone rather than saturate, which is why it rinses cleanly and does not leave residue on hair, hands, or surfaces. It is sulphate-free and works as both a rinse-out conditioner and a leave-in treatment.

Named after the fig tree in the Song of Solomon 2:13 — a symbol of beauty, patience, and the rewards of care taken over time. Silver hair earns those associations.

What’s In It

The Fig balm is built around abyssinian oil — a lightweight oil that conditions and adds shine without greasiness, particularly suited to the finer texture that grey hair often develops — turmeric powder for antioxidant protection and scalp health, rosemary essential oil to stimulate the scalp and support hair density, lavender essential oil for calming and balance, and D-Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5) to improve elasticity and reduce breakage. Coffee bean oil supports scalp circulation. Pomegranate seed oil and shea butter add moisture and softness. For the full breakdown of every ingredient, see the ingredient list below.

Who It’s For

  • Silver, grey, or white hair — particularly hair that picks up yellow or brassy tones over time
  • Blonde or highlighted hair — the toning effect works on any light hair colour
  • Anyone using The Fig shampoo bar — this balm was made to work alongside it
  • Hair that is dry or coarse — grey hair loses moisture more readily and benefits from the richer conditioning base

Tones silver and grey hair, neutralises brassiness, and works rinse-out or leave-in — without staining.

Neutralise the Brass. Restore the Softness.
