Spider bite

An injury caused by venom from a spider’s bite.

Many spiders aren’t poisonous. Bites can sometimes be severe and develop late.

Poisonous spiders, such as black widows and brown recluses, generally live in undisturbed areas, such as attics or sheds, and don’t bite unless threatened.

Symptoms include swelling, redness, and pain around the bite.

Skin: redness, blister, small bump, or pimples; also common: itching or swelling.
