Condition:

Pneumonia

Definition:

Pneumonia is an infection caused by bacteria or viruses that inflame the air sacs in one or both lungs, which may fill with fluid. This may cause a decrease in the amount of oxygen that blood can absorb from air breathed into the lung.

For most people, pneumonia can be treated at home; it often clears up in two to three weeks. But older adults, infants and people with other diseases or a weakened immune system can become very ill.

Symptom:

You may be more likely to present symptoms of the disease after having a cold or the flu; these illnesses make it hard for your lungs to fight infection, so it is easier to get pneumonia. Having a long-term, or chronic disease also makes you more likely to contract pneumonia.

Symptoms of pneumonia may include

  • cough, which may produce phlegm
  • fever and sweating
  • fast or labored breathing
  • shaking chills
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhoea
  • chest pain when you breathe or cough
  • extreme fatigue
  • confusion or changes in mental awareness (in adults age 65 and older)
  • lower than normal body temperature (in adults older than age 65 and people with weak immune systems)
  • shortness of breath
  • newborns and infants may not show any sign of the infection, or they
  • may vomit, have a fever and cough, appear restless or tired and
  • without energy, or have difficulty breathing and eating

The signs and symptoms of pneumonia vary from mild to severe, depending on factors such as the type of germ causing the infection, and your age and overall health. Mild signs and symptoms often are like those of a cold or flu, but they last longer.

For Fever

Ingredients :
1 1/2 cup Epsom salts
5 drops Frankincense 5ml  10ml
5 drops Lavender 5ml 10ml
5 drops Peppermint 5ml 10ml
(Ratio: 1 Cup: 10 drops)
Instructions :
Add pure oils to Epsom salt and stir together. Draw a lukewarm bath and add ¼–½ cup of Epsom salt to the tub.

Mix 10 drops each of Eucalyptus 5ml 10ml and Peppermint 5ml 10ml with one tablespoon of coconut oil. Before bed, rub the mixture on your neck and chest. Leave it on overnight, then rinse it off in the morning. Repeat nightly until symptoms improve.

Diffuse 2-3 drops of each oil; maximum 10-12 drops in total, at a time, unless otherwise advised.

NOTE: Always use an ultrasonic diffuser (with a diffusing duration of at least 8 hours), to diffuse pure essential oils. Do not use a humidifier, air purifier, or a candle, as they only smell good and have no further effect. An electric, ultrasonic, diffuser dispenses essential oils into the air through vibrations of a plate which causes ultrasonic waves, creating microscopic particles of oils that disperse into the air. It, therefore, breaks open the essential oil volatile molecules, to have a medicinal effect in that it can penetrate through the blood-brain barrier. It is always good to use a diffuser at night while you are sleeping.
Steam Method
Add 3-4 drops (or as otherwise advised) of essential oil/diffuser blend to boiling water in a large pot or heatproof bowl. Immediately after adding the essential oil, cover the bowl with a large bath towel to avoid molecules from escaping into the air. Place your face above the bowl underneath the towel, not too close to avoid the steam from burning your skin, inhale the hot steam through your nose for no more than two minutes at a time and for a total of approximately 10 minutes.
