Labyrinthitis inner ear infection

Labyrinthitis is an inner ear infection. It causes a delicate structure deep inside your ear called the labyrinth to become inflamed, affecting your hearing and balance.

Symptom:

The most common symptoms are dizziness, hearing loss (from mild to total loss of hearing), and vertigo – the sensation that you, or the environment around you, are moving.

These symptoms can range from mild to severe, with some people feeling that they are unable to remain upright. Other symptoms include:

a feeling of pressure inside your ear(s)
ringing or humming in your ear(s) (tinnitus)
fluid or pus leaking out of your ear(s)
ear pain
feeling sick (nausea) or being sick
a high temperature (fever) of 38C (100.4F) or above
changes in vision, such as blurred vision or double vision
mild headaches

Certain things can make the dizziness worse, including:

colds or illness
the dark
being in crowded areas or small rooms
tiredness
a women’s period
walking

Protocol:

Topically apply 5-10 drops of the Tinnitus/Hearing Blend behind the ear towards the hairline, over the carotid artery, in the front of the neck, and behind the neck.

The following essential oils will assist to manage vertigo in a blend with a carrier oil, apply behind the ears (never inside the ear) and inhale (see below).

Ginger 5ml 10ml

Lavender 5ml 10ml

Lemon 5ml 10ml

Peppermint 5ml 10ml

Inhale Method

Drip 2-3 drops of suggested essential oil or as otherwise directed, into the palm of the hands, rub once to open the molecules (rubbing will evaporate the oil), cup your hands around your mouth and nose and deeply inhale.

Inhaling Melissa 5ml 10ml to further assist.

You can also apply the Hearing Restore Roll-on behind the ears and neck, 3 times a day.

A drop of Helichrysum 5ml 10ml behind the ear, or on a cotton ball as an earplug will assist with the ringing in the ears.

Garlic 5ml 10ml and Tea Tree 5ml 10ml in a blend with a carrier oil behind the ears and on a cotton ball will assist with infection and any discharge.
