IMPORTANT TO KNOW

All our blends come in a 30ml glass bottle, with a glass pipette and a rubber bulb on top. Don’t forget to buy empty veggie capsules when purchasing an ingestible blend. (Our veggie capsules are now available in 90’s and 150’s).

Never pre-fill capsules for future use, as this will compromise the veggie capsule and melt. Instead, always fill the capsules just before drinking them. (But if there is no other option, only prepare up to 3 days’ supply. You MUST then keep them upright in the refrigerator in a marked container; to know which blend it is filled with.)

Method – open the veggie capsule, then open your blend, squeeze, and release the rubber bulb to draw the oil blend up into the glass pipette dropper. Gently squeeze the rubber bulb to fill the larger part of the open capsule. Close the capsule before drinking it. Dosage is always a full capsule of a specific blend (between 15 to 18 drops) unless otherwise indicated.

If you need to take more than one oil blend per day, spread them throughout the day to assist the body with proper absorption. Never drink more than two capsules of different blends at a time.

It is always good to have a very small snack/fruit before drinking capsules.

HORMONE BALANCE BLEND 30 ML

The Hormone Balance blend supports the endocrine system’s function and promotes hormone balance. Each ingredient has been chosen for its ability to modulate hormone levels, support endocrine organs, and assist in the body’s response to hormonal fluctuations. This blend works on multiple physiological levels, aiding in stress management, stabilizing mood, and supporting the functions of glands responsible for hormone production and regulation.

The Hormone Balance Blend supports the hormones by treating both menopausal symptoms as well as younger PMS hormones, hot flashes, and vaginal discomfort.

Condition: Hormonal Imbalance

Hormonal imbalance occurs when there is too much or too little of one or more hormones in the bloodstream. Because hormones play a critical role in regulating many body processes—including metabolism, reproductive cycles, mood, and stress response—imbalances can lead to various health problems. Common hormone-related issues include premenstrual syndrome (PMS), menopause symptoms, adrenal fatigue, thyroid dysfunction, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

This blend is designed to help stabilize hormone levels by supporting the endocrine system’s primary organs, including the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, thyroid, and reproductive organs. By promoting balance within these systems, the blend can help address symptoms of hormonal imbalances, such as mood swings, fatigue, insomnia, and menstrual irregularities.

Menopause and Its Physiological Impact

Menopause is a natural biological process that typically occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, marking the end of the reproductive years. Menopause is defined as the cessation of menstrual periods for 12 consecutive months due to a significant decline in ovarian function, which results in decreased production of estrogen and progesterone. This hormonal shift brings various physiological changes as the body adapts to reduced levels of these critical hormones.

Menopause is divided into three stages:

1. Perimenopause: The transitional period before menopause when hormone levels fluctuate, leading to irregular menstrual cycles, mood swings, and hot flashes.
2. Menopause: The point when a woman has not had a menstrual period for 12 months, marking the end of natural fertility.
3. Post-menopause: The years following menopause when estrogen and progesterone levels remain low, often resulting in lasting symptoms and increased risk of certain health conditions, such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.

Symptoms of Menopause include:

• Vasomotor symptoms: Hot flashes, night sweats, and temperature sensitivity due to irregularities in thermoregulation.
• Mood changes: Irritability, anxiety, and depression, often attributed to hormone fluctuations and potential reductions in serotonin and other mood-regulating neurotransmitters.
• Sleep disturbances: Insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns can further impact mood and physical health.
• Reduced bone density: Lower estrogen levels lead to decreased bone mass, increasing the risk of osteoporosis.
• Cardiovascular changes: Increased risk of cardiovascular disease due to hormonal shifts that affect blood lipid levels and vessel elasticity.
• Metabolic changes: Weight gain, particularly around the abdomen, due to slower metabolism and changes in insulin sensitivity.

Hormonal Modulation Across a Woman’s Lifespan

Hormones are vital in a woman’s health, affecting everything from mood and energy levels to reproductive health and metabolic function. Key hormones—particularly estrogen, progesterone, and to a lesser degree, testosterone—change throughout a woman’s life, from puberty to post-menopause. The Hormone Balance Support Blend offers targeted support for hormonal modulation across all ages, regardless of reproductive status or organ function.

1. Hormonal Shifts and the Role of the Blend from Puberty to Menopause

• Puberty: During puberty, the ovaries begin producing estrogen and progesterone, triggering the development of secondary sexual characteristics and the start of the menstrual cycle. The hormonal fluctuations in this phase can lead to symptoms such as mood swings, acne, and irregular cycles.
  • Blend Action: The blend’s ingredients like Lavender and Thyme help stabilize mood by supporting the central nervous system, while Frankincense and Ylang-ylang stabilise the hormonal system, helping to ease emotional instability. Fennel can assist in regulating menstrual cycles by promoting balanced estrogen levels.
• Reproductive Years: Throughout a woman’s reproductive years, estrogen and progesterone levels rise and fall with the menstrual cycle, supporting fertility and pregnancy. Hormonal imbalances during this period can cause conditions such as PMS, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and endometriosis.
  • Blend Action: The blend supports hormone equilibrium by providing a gentle phytoestrogenic effect from Clary Sage and Fennel, which can help balance estrogen without causing excessive stimulation. Marjoram supports regular menstrual cycles, while Geranium Rose and Lavender stabilize mood, and alleviate PMS symptoms, providing support for stress-related imbalances.
• Perimenopause and Menopause: Leading up to menopause, women experience hormonal fluctuations and eventual declines in estrogen and progesterone, resulting in symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and night sweats. Post-menopause, the body adjusts to lower estrogen levels, but symptoms may persist, and risks of osteoporosis and cardiovascular issues increase.
  • Blend Action: In this phase, Clary Sage and Fennel provide mild estrogenic support to alleviate hot flashes and balance mood. Thyme and Frankincense support adrenal health, which becomes increasingly important for hormone production as ovarian function declines. Lemongrass aids liver function, which helps metabolize and regulate any remaining hormone byproducts, further easing menopausal symptoms.

2. Hormonal Support When Ovaries and Uterus are Removed

In oophorectomy (ovary removal) or hysterectomy (uterus removal), the body’s hormone regulation shifts considerably. The ovaries are a primary source of estrogen and progesterone, so their removal can lead to a sudden drop in these hormones, often causing premature menopause and symptoms such as hot flashes, osteoporosis, and mood swings. In the absence of ovaries, the adrenal glands take on a compensatory role, producing small amounts of estrogen and other hormones to maintain balance.

• Blend Action: This blend is particularly beneficial post-oophorectomy or hysterectomy because it supports the adrenal glands with ingredients like Frankincense and Basil, which help moderate cortisol levels and promote balanced adrenal function, indirectly stabilizing hormone levels. Clary Sage and Fennel provide gentle phytoestrogens to help mitigate sudden estrogen loss, while Lavender and Geranium Rose help manage mood and emotional changes associated with abrupt hormonal changes.

Mechanisms of Action for Hormonal Modulation Across Conditions

The Hormone Balance Blend promotes hormonal homeostasis rather than stimulating hormone production directly. This makes it adaptable and safe for all ages and conditions, working through multiple mechanisms:

1. Endocrine System Support:
   • Ingredients like Frankincense and Thyme act on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, the body’s hormonal command center. By stabilizing the HPA axis, the blend helps regulate the release of hormones throughout the body, promoting balanced hormone levels rather than excessive peaks or troughs.
2. Phytoestrogenic Modulation:
   • Clary Sage and Fennel offer mild phytoestrogenic effects, which can bind to estrogen receptors and provide a balancing effect without overstimulating estrogen production. This is particularly beneficial for estrogen-deficient states like menopause, or for individuals who have had their ovaries removed, by helping to alleviate estrogen-related symptoms without creating excessive hormonal activity.
3. Liver and Detoxification Pathways:
   • Lemongrass and Grapeseed Oil support liver detoxification pathways. The liver is responsible for metabolizing and breaking down excess hormones, including estrogen. By aiding liver function, these oils help prevent estrogen dominance by ensuring that hormone byproducts are efficiently cleared from the body, creating a healthier hormonal balance.
4. Adrenal and Stress Response:
   • The adrenal glands become increasingly important for hormone production in cases of ovarian removal and during post-menopausal years. Ingredients like Frankincense and Basil support the adrenal glands by modulating cortisol levels, helping to prevent stress-induced hormonal fluctuations and promoting a balanced stress response that is critical for overall hormone regulation.
5. Anti-inflammatory and Nervous System Support:
   • Lavender and Ylang-ylang provide anti-inflammatory effects and help stabilize the nervous system. By reducing inflammation, which can disrupt hormonal balance, and supporting mood regulation, these oils play a role in minimizing hormonal fluctuations associated with conditions like PMS, PCOS, and perimenopause.

Summary of Benefits for All Ages and Conditions

The Hormone Balance Support Blend is uniquely formulated to adapt to the diverse hormonal needs across different life stages, from puberty to post-menopause, for women who have undergone ovary or uterus removal. By focusing on modulation, rather than direct stimulation of hormone production, this blend offers a safe, holistic approach to maintaining hormone health. It supports the body’s regulatory processes, aiding in liver detoxification, adrenal function, and mood stabilization, which are all vital for a balanced endocrine system.

In cases where hormone-producing organs have been removed, the blend helps by supporting the adrenal glands and liver function, ensuring that the body maintains a natural equilibrium without overstimulation. This makes the blend suitable and safe for addressing hormone-related conditions and promoting wellness at any stage of life.

The Hormone Balance Support Blend and Its Role in Menopause Management

The Hormone Balance Support Blend is designed to address menopausal symptoms through its supportive actions on hormonal modulation, mood stabilization, and overall endocrine health. By targeting the physiological imbalances associated with menopause, this blend assists in alleviating symptoms, promoting well-being, and supporting long-term health in postmenopausal women.

Mechanisms of Action and Symptom Management

1. Phytoestrogenic Support:
   • Clary Sage and Fennel contain phytoestrogens, plant-derived compounds that can mimic estrogen in the body. These phytoestrogens may help alleviate menopausal symptoms related to estrogen deficiency, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. By binding to estrogen receptors, phytoestrogens help stabilize hormone levels without having to have synthetic hormone replacement therapy.
   • Thyme also supports progesterone production, balancing estrogen and progesterone ratios, and reducing symptoms associated with hormone fluctuations.
2. Nervous System and Mood Regulation:
   • Lavender and Ylang-ylang are known for their anxiolytic and calming effects, which help to stabilize mood and reduce anxiety. Lavender modulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, reducing cortisol levels and promoting relaxation, which is beneficial for stress-related menopausal symptoms.
   • Geranium Rose has mild adaptogenic properties that support adrenal function and stabilize mood, which can be particularly useful for the emotional fluctuations common in menopause.
3. Vasomotor Symptom Relief:
   • Hot flashes and night sweats are among the most common and uncomfortable symptoms of menopause. Clary Sage has shown promise in clinical settings for its ability to reduce the intensity and frequency of hot flashes by modulating thermoregulatory processes.
   • The cooling and calming properties of Lemongrass may further help with temperature regulation, reducing episodes of excessive sweating and overheating.
4. Bone Density and Cardiovascular Support:
   • The antioxidant properties of Frankincense and Grapeseed Oil provide cellular protection, which is critical during menopause as estrogen depletion can lead to oxidative stress. These antioxidants help protect bone health by reducing the rate of bone density loss and support cardiovascular health by improving endothelial function and reducing inflammation.
   • Basil supports adrenal health and helps modulate cortisol, indirectly benefiting bone health and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
5. Liver Detoxification and Hormone Metabolism:
   • Lemongrass and Grapeseed Oil aid in liver detoxification, which is essential for metabolizing hormone byproducts and preventing estrogen dominance. The liver plays a crucial role in balancing hormones, especially during perimenopause, by processing and eliminating excess estrogen from the body.
   • By supporting liver function, these ingredients help prevent the buildup of hormone metabolites, which may exacerbate symptoms like mood instability and fatigue.
6. Endocrine System Support:
   • Frankincense and Basil support the adrenal glands, which take on a compensatory role in hormone production during menopause. With reduced ovarian output of estrogen, the adrenal glands help produce small amounts of estrogen and progesterone to maintain balance. This support is especially beneficial for women who experience adrenal fatigue or chronic stress, which can worsen menopausal symptoms.

Summary of Blend Benefits in Menopause

The combined action of these oils addresses both immediate symptoms and long-term health needs during menopause. By supporting adrenal function, modulating cortisol, aiding liver detoxification, and providing phytoestrogenic support, the Hormone Balance Support Blend helps reduce hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and bone density loss. Furthermore, the antioxidants within the blend support cardiovascular health, which is crucial given the increased risk of cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women.

For breast cancer patients who are sensitive to estrogen, particularly those with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) or estrogen-dominant cancers, it’s essential to avoid compounds that might significantly increase estrogen levels. The Hormone Balance Support Blend has been formulated with this in mind, as its ingredients support the modulation and balance of hormones rather than inducing a strong estrogenic effect.

Why the Blend is Safe for Estrogen-Sensitive Breast Cancer Patients

1. Selective Phytoestrogen Action:
   • Phytoestrogens, like those found in Clary Sage and Fennel, bind weakly to estrogen receptors, unlike synthetic oestrogens or strong phytoestrogens in some plants. This weak binding does not cause a significant increase in circulating estrogen. Instead, it may help balance estrogen levels by mildly occupying estrogen receptors, potentially reducing the impact of stronger oestrogens on receptor sites. This selective action can be beneficial in reducing estrogen dominance without overstimulating estrogen production.
2. Estrogen Modulation Without Excess Stimulation:
   • Unlike synthetic hormone treatments, this blend does not increase estrogen production within the body. Thyme and Clary Sage, for instance, act as modulators rather than stimulants. They help the body achieve balance, but they do not drive the production of estrogen. Thus, for patients who need to avoid excess estrogen, it provides support without causing hormonal spikes.
3. Support of Detoxification Pathways:
   • Lemongrass and Grapeseed Oil support liver detoxification processes, which help the body eliminate excess estrogen and estrogen byproducts. This action is crucial for estrogen-sensitive patients, as it prevents the accumulation of estrogen metabolites, which can contribute to estrogen dominance. Efficient liver function helps regulate estrogen levels by processing and removing excess hormones, reducing the risk of estrogen-related complications.
4. Adrenal Support Without Direct Hormone Production:
   • Ingredients like Frankincense and Basil support the adrenal glands, which can provide hormonal balance by reducing cortisol and indirectly helping the body manage estrogen levels without directly increasing estrogen production. By maintaining a balanced stress response, these ingredients may help reduce hormone fluctuations that can aggravate estrogen-sensitive conditions.
5. Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Support:
   • Ingredients like Frankincense, Grapeseed Oil, and Lavender provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support. This can benefit breast cancer patients by reducing inflammation and cellular oxidative stress, which are often linked to cancer progression. Importantly, these compounds do not exhibit estrogenic properties, so they can support health without influencing estrogen-sensitive pathways.

Summary of Safety for Estrogen-Sensitive Conditions

The Hormone Balance Support Blend is carefully formulated to balance hormone levels without stimulating significant estrogenic activity. By focusing on liver detoxification, adrenal support, selective receptor modulation, and antioxidant protection, this blend aims to support hormonal health in a manner compatible with estrogen-sensitive breast cancer patients. It helps prevent estrogen buildup, reduces hormone-related stress, and provides non-estrogenic support for overall balance and wellness.
