Technical Information
Grapeseed Carrier Oil, or Grape Oil as it is sometimes called, is extracted from the seeds of the Vitis vinifera botanical, which is typically cultivated to produce wine grapes.
Although they are often discarded, the seeds are said to be the part of the grape that is most conducive to health.
Grape seed oil is lightweight, easily absorbed by the skin, and has a neutral scent. It’s a good carrier oil to use with essential oils to make body oils and massage oils.
Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils and “carry” them to your skin. That’s because essential oils are very strong and can cause irritation when applied directly to your skin. Most carrier oils are unscented or lightly scented and don’t interfere with an essential oil’s therapeutic properties.
Internal: Yes
Topical: Yes
To use grapeseed oil on your face, massage several drops into clean skin before you go to bed at night. You can repeat the process in the morning if desired. Since grapeseed oil doesn’t clog pores, it’s ideal for all skin types, including oily skin that needs moisturizing.
BENEFITS
Used medicinally, Grapeseed Carrier Oil boosts circulation and reduces the appearance of varicose veins, spider veins, and cellulite. Used in a massage, it can soothe tired muscles, and its anti-inflammatory activity can relieve the pain and swelling associated with arthritis.
